As you have read in this on-going blog, Bobby is very ill these days. I would go into graphic detail to illustrate the point, but I would be afraid of violating Bobby’s privacy. Let’s just suffice to say that on a very good day, which are fewer and farther between the bad ones, he is able to get up, get dressed, eat a real meal, write, and possibly take a visitor for a short time. On a bad day, he is able to choke down a few bites of food, and usually chooses to write anyways. On a really bad day, he lays in bed in utter pain. Bobby is a recovering addict, and it is against his belief system to take a single pain pill. Not one. He knows it would open the door to another world he does not want to be in. So he doesn’t. He bears the pain without any assistance whatsoever.

As you have read here, Bobby’s soul joy was his music. When a person knows what they are born to be, it becomes a spiritual quest. Anyone who has experienced this, knows what I’m talking about. It is your passion. Bobby followed his passion, but was at the mercy of an uncaring and heartless industry, as you can see. This became so painful to him, that he eventually left it. And the music sat on a shelf, gathering dust on boxes of reel to reel tapes for two decades. It was only a few years ago that Bobby retrieved these boxes and allowed himself to listen to it again. It was that painful to him.

What brings him joy? For anyone, I mean ANYONE, to listen to a single song of his and find it meaningful to them. That single act rights all the wrongs. It tells him, finally, that he was indeed the musician he was born to be.

TerriAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6026171904413475346.post-55017812349551980532008-04-03T10:33:00.000-07:002008-04-03T10:33:00.000-07:00At some point during the telling of your story, I ...At some point during the telling of your story, I think many of us would like to know about the things that bring you joy these days, the things, little or large, that make you smile, that give you comfort.

Keep writing.....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
