(part 170) RHYME AND RUMBLE

ANCIENT HISTORY
WRITTEN BADLY
BY MY HAND
OF ENDLESS SADLY
MELTING TEARS
ON MARBLE FACES
WHERE AM I
IN ALL THESE SPACES

WORDS THAT TITTER
TAT ON PAGES
IN BETWEEN MY
RANTS AND RAGES
PHOTOGRAPHS
OF YESTERDAY
THE LIFE I LIVED
AND THREW AWAY

SYLLABLES
LIKE NUMBERS COUNTED
SENTENCES
ARE FRAMED AND MOUNTED
MEANING THINGS THAT
BARELY MUMBLE
INTO SOUNDS
OF RHYME AND RUMBLE

Bobby Jameson June 2009

  1. Saw Bobby perform at a hall in Cleveland in 64(?). He was the first performer I saw live who had 'long hair'.
I was 15, the concert was great - we met GIRLS! and crazily stacked chairs ever higher to see over the crowd.
Sorry to hear about your problems. Fame is a bitch! Few are prepared for the changes, especially the kind of people who stick their necks out for all the world to whack at.
Good to hear of your redemption. I look forward to reading more of your blog.
I looked you up to find the name of your hit song back then, to relay a story to an old HS friend.

THANKS for posting! As we get older, we all want to tell our stories, to understand and validate our lives.

  2. I think that was at The Parade Of Progress with Chubby Checker. The fire marshall kept threatening to shut the show down cause the kids were getting too wild. Thanks for the memory jondo888
