LEGAL UPDATE...COLOR HIM IN

In the last couple of weeks there has been a battle raging over the illegal posting of my 1967 Verve album Color Him In on itunes music store for download sales. This was done without my knowledge or permission by another UK company.

I am pleased to say, as of now, that I have received notification that the album will be removed from itunes. This is a big victory in my battle over the rights to my work.

Dear Mr Jameson,

Further to the correspondence below, I can confirm Color Him In will be removed from iTunes on 27th September 2011. This process takes 5 business days and cannot be done immediately, but please be assured that the process of removing this album has commenced and will be completed as soon as possible.

Please let me know if there is anything else you need.

Kind regards

Nicola

  1. Congratulations! It is a frustrating victory, of course, because it would be great to have your music out there and available to fans and newcomers, but not when it is stolen and uncompensated. Maybe a legitimate deal will come along some day; whether it does or not, you are right to chase away the vultures and hyenas. Again, congratulations on a victory.

  2. Thanks Tim...this is a significant victory for sure, and fair warning to others, that I am still on the prowl and have no intentions of stopping my battle over the world wide rights to my work.....

  3. Hi Bobby.
I sent this message to you on Facebook as well, but I was told that it would be sent to your "other" folder and not your inbox, so I'm writing it here too for safety's sake.
I have your LP "Color him in", but was hoping to find it on CD. As far as I know the only CD issue so far is by Fallout records. From what I could tell from your website on Blogspot, they ended up paying you a bit of royalties in the end, which was great, but my question is: Do you know if the CD was made from the original master tapes, or has it just been transferred from vinyl?
If it's transferred from vinyl, there's no point in buying it - I might as well keep the LP. Do you know if there are any other plans for a CD issue of this album?
I hope things work out better for you regarding royalties in the future. I read on your website that until those royalties from Fallout came in, you had never been paid anything in your entire career, which is very, very sad.

    All the best

    1. The Fallout cd is a very poor needle drop transfer from vinyl Anders, and there is no current plan for a reissue that I am aware of....In my entire life I have received a thousand dollars for color him in....that is the entire amount....lifetime...thanks for your interest...Bobby
